In Their Words

I have received community service, outreach, and networking opportunities.. The impact that I have experienced with AAAMotivated is being able to attend the Black Students Success Week: High School Edition, being able to connect with students, other young people around my age, get tips, feedback,, and motivation to help me get through the remainder of my high school years. The impact that AAAMotivated has had in me is I am now more confident about being a Black student in a predominantly White school and feeling confident when sometimes I am the only Black student in my class. The impact I will make from AAAMotivated is to encourage other younger Black students in my community when they have felt the way I have felt at some points.

Everyone should support this work because AAAMotivated is a long-term resource spanning all areas of life, led by someone who’s willing to go the distance for anyone who engages with community.

The impact that AAAMotivated has had on me is the motivation to strive for the best. AAA has inspired me to become the best version of myself. I've learned that words are meaningless without action, and that anything said in business must be documented because documentation outdoes conversation. I am currently in my final year of earning my master's degree in nursing, and AAAMotivated has inspired me to help the underserved community. I am currently working as an advocate for underserved mothers in Baltimore County. Together with my instructors and other community volunteers, we brainstorm new and innovative ways to strengthen the community and be a voice for those who are unheard in society.

"Ms. Kehia is an amazing advocate for youth and has a heart of gold for their well-being, success and their own vision of their future. While she has love and care for all children; she is sincerely dedicated to empowering our Black youth because she understands the inherit struggles that they are faced with day to day. She is grounded in the notion that if they see the good in themselves, they will be successful in whatever they choose to do. For all of this and more, our communities are a better place because of role models and mentors like Kehia."
