About the event

Kwanzaa is about the first fruits but it highlights our most precious asset. The human one! It is a time for reflection and celebration allowing us to show gratitude for our elders while encouraging the youth. Kwanzaa does not focus on gifts but often people may give books or make things to highlight our African, Diasporan, and African American culture. We like to incorporate every aspect of the principles in how we manage our days (everyday) and even as we plan for Kwanzaa.

Many people typically take a day to highlight each principle on its day and generate discussion on the meanings while they light the candle each day. Since we have this year’s celebration on 12/30 at 2:00 pm, we highlight all the principles and help people understand how to celebrate not only during Kwanzaa but embody the principles to elevate our mindset and transform our pain into power.

Doors will open at 1 pm  - Then we eat! Everyone should bring a dish to share as we want everyone to participate in Kwanzaa.
