Empowering Our Youth, Strengthening Our Community
WHY WE EXIST
The Black Parent Collective exists to address the persistent academic and social achievement gaps faced by Black youth in our communities. Too often, Black students are underserved, leading to disparities in educational outcomes. Our solution is to empower parents, caretakers, advocates, and educators with the tools, knowledge, and community support needed to actively participate in their children's education, ensuring that every Black student has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Approach
Research consistently underscores the transformative impact of parent engagement on student success. Students with actively involved parents are more likely to excel academically, demonstrate positive behavior, and develop higher self-esteem.
However, Black parents often encounter barriers to engagement, including limited access to resources, negative experiences with the education system, and the demands of competing priorities.
The Black Parent Collective by AAAMotivated seeks to address these challenges head-on. We have created a scalable program designed to empower Black parents to take an active, informed role in their children’s education. By providing the tools, knowledge, and community support necessary, we enable parents to advocate effectively for their children’s needs and to foster a thriving, supportive environment both at home and in their communities. Our approach not only bridges the gap between parents and schools but also builds a strong network of engaged families committed to the academic and social success of Black youth.
The Heart of Our Work
Empowering Black parents is at the heart of our mission. We provide the tools, resources, and community support needed to help parents actively guide their children's academic and social success. By fostering a network of engaged families, we enable parents to share strategies, advocate for educational equity, and work together to close the achievement gap for Black youth. Join us in creating lasting change for our children and communities.
Research and Evidence
Research indicates that parent engagement is one of the most significant predictors of student success. According to a report by the Harvard Family Research Project, "when parents are engaged, students are more likely to attend school regularly, earn higher grades, and graduate." Additionally, the National Education Association states that "strong family engagement is linked to improved academic performance and reduced dropout rates." Despite these benefits, Black parents often face systemic barriers to engagement. A study by the American Psychological Association found that Black parents are more likely to report feeling unwelcome at their children's schools and less likely to have access to resources that facilitate engagement. The Black Parent Collective seeks to address these disparities by providing a supportive, culturally responsive environment where Black parents can learn, connect, and advocate for their children's success.
